Should the Spartans beat Rutgers on Saturday, it appears Michigan State football is destined for the GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit.

Brett McMurphy of the Action Network released an updated batch of bowl projections on Monday, and he has Michigan State landing in the GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit. He is projecting the Spartans to face Buffalo in the bowl.

The GameAbove Sports Bowl has been a popular destination for the Spartans in projections this week (and, really, most weeks for the last month). CBS Sports also has Michigan State landing in that bowl game.

The Spartans are 5-6 overall and 3-5 in Big Ten play. Michigan State snapped a three-game losing streak this past weekend with a win over Purdue. The Spartans will need to beat Rutgers on Saturday in order to reach bowl eligibility.

Michigan State hosts Rutgers in the regular season finale on Saturday. Kickoff time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
