Now the real test begins.
LSU women’s basketball opened up this season against six mid-major opponents and while there were a couple of sweats in that stretch with Murray State and last time out against Tulane, Kim Mulkey’s squad mostly handled business, winning on average by 41.1 points per game.
The No. 7 Tigers (6-0) now take a step up in competition in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship tournament in the Bahamas this week, starting with Washington Monday afternoon.
Washington (6-1) has one blemish to the season this far, a head-scratching 82-68 loss to Montana, but come into the matchup with LSU on two-game win streak. The Huskies are now in the Big Ten and are not expected to challenge for a conference title in their top-heavy league but they have plenty of experience on their roster including four returning starters.
