UConn women’s basketball sells out Gampel Pavilion season tickets for first time in 20 years

UConn women’s basketball announced Wednesday that it has sold out all of its 2024-25 season tickets at Gampel Pavilion for the first time in 20 years.

Last season the Huskies posted their highest home attendance average since 2005-06 with eight sellouts including six at Gampel, but the last season the Huskies sold out their arena in Storrs was 2004-05 after UConn legend Diana Taurasi led the program to a third consecutive national championship in 2004.

UConn will play seven regular-season games at Gampel Pavilion this season, headlined by the program’s celebration of head coach Geno Auriemma and longtime associate head coach Chris Dailey. The iconic duo’s legendary 40-year tenure together will be honored at the Nov. 20 game against Fairleigh-Dickinson, and a star-studded roster of program alumni are invited to attend.

The Huskies open their slate at Gampel hosting South Florida on Nov. 10, and they will also host Holy Cross for a non-conference matchup Dec. 3 before the holiday break. In Big East play, UConn will face Seton Hall (Jan. 19), Villanova (Jan. 22) and St. John’s (Feb. 12) in Storrs before ending the season against Marquette on March 2.

UConn swept the Big East regular season and tournament titles in 2023-24 and reached the Final Four on a miracle run with just six players in the regular rotation. The team expects to have a much deeper bench this year if it can stay healthy: Superstar guard Paige Bueckers is back for a fifth season of eligibility after she was a finalist for Naismith Player of the Year in 2024, and Azzi Fudd, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2021, will return after an ACL tear ended her 2023-24 season after just two games. Auriemma signed the No. 2 recruiting class in the country headlined by No. 1 2024 recruit Sarah Strong, and he added former Princeton point guard Kaitlyn Chen as his first transfer signee since 2022.
