For the first time in more than three years, Georgia football will enter a game as an underdog when the Bulldogs visit Royal-Memorial Stadium to face Texas football Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Georgia hasn’t been an underdog since Sept. 4, 2021, when Clemson was favored by 2½ points in a season-opening game that Georgia won 10-3 at a neutral site in Charlotte. The last time the Bulldogs were an underdog in a true road game was Oct. 17, 2020, when Alabama was a 6-point favorite.
Texas is a 3½-point favorite over Georgia Saturday, according to BetMGM.

Georgia, the consensus No. 1 team to open the season, opened as a 1½-point favorite over Texas this summer. The Longhorns (6-0, 2-0 SEC) have since moved atop both polls while Georgia (5-1, 3-1) is No. 4 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 5 in the Associated Press poll.
Eighty-one percent of the bets and 83% of the money is on Georgia to cover, according to BetMGM Sunday.
Texas crushed rival Oklahoma this past Saturday 34-3 in Dallas while Georgia held off Mississippi State 41-31 at home.
