Talladega lineup after NASCAR Yellawood 500. Why it’s called Front Row

Michael McDowell continued to put the front row in Front Row Motorsports, capturing yet another “plate-race” pole Saturday at Talladega.

That’s five pole-winning runs for McDowell’s Ford in the six speed-restricted tracks this season — one of the two at Daytona, both at Atlanta and now both at Talladega.

“It’s just amazing. Just so proud of everybody on this team,” McDowell said. “It’s hard to come down here and get the pole, but we found some things in the offseason.”

Making McDowell’s 2024 superspeedway speed even more amazing: Prior to 2024, he had never won a pole in 16 Cup Series seasons.
