Ohio State women’s basketball is ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press preseason poll.
The ranking is seven spots behind where the Buckeyes started the 2023-24 season at No. 7, and makes Ohio State the third-highest ranked team in the Big Ten. USC and UCLA are ranked higher than the Buckeyes, at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively.
The Buckeyes have lost key players from last year’s roster. Leading scorer Jacy Sheldon and Big Ten co-Defensive Player of the Year Celeste Taylor finished their colligate basketball careers at the conclusion of last year.
Ohio State is returning starters Cotie McMahon and Taylor Thierry while bring new players such as Jaloni Cambridge, who was the No. 2 recruit out of the Class of 2024, according to ESPN.
From the transfer portal, OSU added Chance Gray from Oregon and Ajae Petty from Kentucky.
The Buckeyes open their season Nov. 5 against Cleveland State at the Schottenstein Center. The started time is still to be determined.
