Logan Sargeant is looking for his next career move. After an unsuccessful stint in Formula 1 with Williams Racing, the 23-year-old is all set to begin a new motorsport chapter, perhaps closer to home this time around. Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the driver has been linked with a move to IndyCar, and tests with Meyer Shank Racing have added to that speculation. However, a move to NASCAR may also be on the cards, as the racer is looking to explore all options before deciding his next destination.
With the backing of his uncle Harry Sargeant III, could the 23-year-old find a place in one of NASCAR’s three national series? While it’s unlikely that he will transition to stock car racing for the 2025 season, there remains a possibility for the foreseeable future. However, that didn’t stop fans from speculating about his next career move on social media.

Logan Sargeant’s career hasn’t panned out the way he wanted, has it? The racer has had a less-than-ideal stint in Formula 1, securing just 1 point in 37 races for Williams, while his replacement Franco Colapinto took just a few races to outperform the American. He has been heavily linked with a move to the PREMA team, having already had pre-existing ties with them after finishing third in the Formula 3 driver’s championship with the team in 2020.
However, a move to NASCAR cannot be ruled out entirely. With plenty of financial backing and an impressive profile because of his time in Formula 1, Logan Sargeant won’t find it too difficult to secure a seat in one of the sport’s three national series. Given his prior experience, a jump to the Cup Series might be too soon for the young driver, but a spot in the Truck or Xfinity Series could be a viable career option. With Harry Sargeant III’s backing, changing his motorsport discipline is well within the 23-year-old’s grasp and he will aim to make use of the opportunity this time around.
As things stand, the 23-year-old will be testing with Meyer Shank Racing at The Thermal Club on November 19th. The driver will be behind the wheel of an MSR Honda around the 17-turn, 3.067-mile road course. While a move to Michael Shank’s team won’t be possible, as Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Armstrong already occupy the two spots, testing with a driver as competent as Sargeant wasn’t an opportunity the team was going to pass by.
Unlike Formula 1, IndyCars don’t have power steering, which means Logan Sargeant could use the opportunity to acclimatize himself to the rigors of the sport ahead of a potential move. While a job offer might not be on the line at MSR, the test could be considered an informal audition, with the results potentially deciding his IndyCar future should a spot open up soon.
Meanwhile, NASCAR will present a whole new challenge altogether, as it deviates from open-wheel racing and it’s a format the 23-year-old is wholly unfamiliar with, given his limited experience across multiple disciplines.
NASCAR fans speculate about Sargeant’s NASCAR career
As expected, it didn’t take long for NASCAR fans to voice their opinion on social media about Logan Sargeant’s future. With whispers circulating about a potential move to NASCAR, some fans felt that his billionaire uncle Harry Sargeant III, who owns a multibillion conglomerate of oil companies, would be able to open doors because of his money and influence.
On that note, one fan wrote, “Logan Sargent can race in any series he wants, be that Indycar, NASCAR, F1, or anything else as long as his billionaire uncle Harry Sargeant wants to write a check. He’s just another pay driver. If he wants to pay, he can play.”

Echoing that sentiment, another fan dismissed Sargeant’s racing prowess, claiming that the 23-year-old has bought his way throughout his motorsport career. Writing on Reddit, the fan said, “He could, of course, he’s backed in infinite money but he’s nothing special. Just another ride-buyer.”
However, another motorsport enthusiast expressed apprehension about the racing driver’s future in NASCAR, saying that he is more keen to pursue a career in the open-wheel format, particularly IndyCar. The fan wrote, “Logan Sargeant seems to be leaning towards IndyCar based on the fact that he’s testing for Meyer Shank Racing. However, I could see Sargeant making a few Xfinity or Truck road course starts if nothing pans out in IndyCar.”
One fan resorted to sarcasm, mocking Logan Sargeant’s lackluster career in Formula 1, where he didn’t finish higher than 10th in 37 races. Questioning the racing driver’s talent and the inherent ability to remain competitive, the motorsport fan wrote, “If he performs in IndyCar as well as he did in F1, the answer is YES. Although, in this case, his NASCAR career will also be brief.”

Another Reddit user made an unkind joke about the former F1 driver, claiming, “The pace car crashed in the last race, perhaps he tried out 👀”, hinting at an incident that took place in the Cup Series at Phoenix before Stage 2, which resulted in a red flag.
