The Sharks take on the Vegas Golden Knights at 5 p.m. tonight. Celebrini has been skating on a line with Tyler Toffoli and Klim Kostin throughout training camp. During the pregame skate, he remained with the same wingers.

“I’m excited. It’s [my] first game in the SAP Center. I mean, [we’re] playing Vegas, which is crazy,” Celebrini said. “It’s another opportunity to get ready for the season. We have these preseason games for a reason,” Celebrini said. “I’m just going to try to go out, feel it out, get the pace of play, and hopefully get comfortable out there.”

The rookie told reporters that his father, Rick, will attend tonight’s game.

Celebrini projects to be on head coach Ryan Warsofksy’s top powerplay unit. Although there hasn’t been much special teams practice throughout the first three days of camp, this was the first time a unit was seen on the ice.

“We have NHL guys on the ice, so the tempo is higher, the quality is better,” Celebrini said about his time at training camp. “Just older, better players that are that are out there. They push the pace of play for all of us young guys and make us better.”
