In the most recent College Football Playoff poll, LSU is unranked for the first time since 2021.

Following an 11-point loss to Florida, the Tigers are on the outside looking in for the first time in the Brian Kelly era. They were No. 22 in last week’s poll.

With losses to Texas A&M, Alabama, and the Gators, LSU’s record fell to 6-4. The skid came following an upset win over Ole Miss and a 24-point victory against Arkansas.

Kelly took over following the 2021 season after LSU parted ways with national championship-winning coach Ed Orgeron, who finished with a 6-6 record in his final year as the Tigers’ leader. LSU lost to Kansas State in the Texas Bowl that year with Brad Davis serving as the interim head coach.

Kelly’s team is also unranked in this week’s AP and US LBM coaches poll. The Tigers were ranked as high as No. 13 in preseason polls.

LSU takes the field against Vanderbilt in Death Valley on Saturday, the first of two home games to end the regular season.
