LSU basketball is almost back. The Tigers close the offseason on Tuesday as they host NAIA opponent Loyola-New Orleans in their preseason charity exhibition.
LSU enters the season off an up-and-down 2023-24 campaign. The Tigers won seven more SEC games, improved to .500 in the conference, notched a few signature victories, and qualified for the NIT for Matt McMahon’s first postseason appearance with the program. However, they still couldn’t win a game in the SEC Tournament and dropped their only NIT game to North Texas.
The Wolf Pack, however, already began its regular season — the NAIA basketball season begins earlier than the NCAA does — with an 89-71 win over Southern University-New Orleans last Thursday.
