Two former UFC light heavyweight champions are jumping back into the fray.

A marquee matchup between Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill is set for Jan. 18 at UFC 311. The UFC formally announced the booking Saturday on the promotion’s UFC Macau post-fight show.

Prochazka (30-5-1) and Hill (12-2, 1 NC) both look to rebound after suffering brutal knockouts in title losses to UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

Prochazka, 32, has now lost two of his past three bouts — both to Pereira — after rattling off a 13-fight win streak that saw him capture championships in both RIZIN and the UFC. An eccentric veteran from the Czech Republic, Prochazka sandwiched a knockout of Aleksandar Rakic between his Pereira losses and also holds notable UFC finishes of Glover Teixeira, Dominick Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir.

Hill, 33, returns after knee injuries sidelined him from a scheduled UFC 303 bout against Carlos Ulberg in June. The Chicago native headlined UFC 300 opposite Pereira this past April, a fight that served as his unlikely comeback following a devastating Achilles tear that forced Hill to vacate his UFC light heavyweight title in July 2023. Prior to losing to Pereira, Hill won four consecutive UFC bouts.

UFC 311 takes place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

A lightweight rematch between UFC champion Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan is expected to headline the event, however the fight has yet to be officially finalized as of this writing.
