The 26-year-old spent last season with Dinamo Minsk in the KHL, posting a 9-9 record in 23 appearances. He split time between the Toronto Marlies, Belleville Senators, and Ottawa Senators in 2022-23, his last season in North America.

Originally a seventh round pick of the Dallas Stars in 2017, Ferguson played his first NHL game as an emergency goaltender for the Vegas Golden Knights while still in junior.

Ferguson has played in three total NHL games with Vegas and Ottawa, coming away with a 1-1 record and .929 SV%. In 29 career AHL appearances he has a 15-7 record with a .915 SV% and 2.56 GAA.

The Lantzville, B.C., native won the ECHL’s Kelly Cup championship with the Fort Wayne Komets in 2020-21.

The Wild’s crease is now crowded with Jesper Wallstedt, Samuel Hlavaj, Troy Grosenick, Kyle McClellan, and now Ferguson all competing for playing time.
