BRISTOL, TN — A big race is set to take place under the lights on Saturday, as drivers look to secure a place in the second round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs when they compete in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Heading into the final race of the Round of 16, there are many drivers trying to see if they have enough to prolong their postseason runs.
Rochester Hills native Brad Keselowski comes into Saturday night as one of the four drivers sitting on the outside of the Round of 12. He was involved in an incident during last Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen that led to a disappointing 26th-place finish. He can still qualify for the next round, but a win is seemingly the only way that can occur. Keselowski sits 12 points back of Ty Gibbs for 12th.
Denny Hamlin, Harrison Burton and Martin Truex Jr. are the other three on the outside looking in.
Currently, Joey Logano is the leader heading into Bristol, as he won the postseason opener at Atlanta two weeks ago. Christopher Bell and Austin Cindric are both sitting pretty, as each driver is over 40 points above the cut-off line.
Regular-season champion Kyle Larson is not out of the woods yet. A couple of disappointing finishes so far has him ninth in the playoff points, just 26 ahead of 13th-place Hamlin.
Despite having some struggles lately, Hamlin is not a driver you want to count on Saturday, as he has won each of the last two races at Bristol. Keselowski won at The Last Great Coliseum in May 2020.
