CONCORD, NC — Heading into the final race in the Round of 12 in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, many drivers are looking to lock in spots for the semifinals, while others look for bragging rights in the Bank of America ROVAL race Charlotte Motor Speedway.

NASCAR is back on the road course after another wild ending at Talladega last Sunday. Many playoff contenders were in the mix of winning the 500-mile battle on the Superspeedway, but “The Big One” with just a few laps to go took many contenders out of contention of securing their place in the Round of 8.
That led to superspeedway legend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. squeaking out a win over Rochester Hills native Brad Keselowski by .006 seconds.
A handful of playoff drivers ended up surviving and posting good finishes to better their chances of moving on to the next round. Henrick Motorsports teammates William Byron and Kyle Larson finished third and fourth, while Christopher Bell grabbed a sixth-place result.
Byron currently leads the playoff standings, 17 points ahead of Bell, and 22 ahead of Larson. Denny Hamlin had another run on Sunday, and is currently fourth in points ahead of Alex Bowman. The drivers on the bubble are Joey Logano, Daniel Suarez, Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe, all drivers who were taken out last Sunday’s race in the big wreck. Logano is the closest one to Chase Elliott, as only 13 points separate the two from the last playoff spot.
