Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick admitted during a recent town hall with JD Vance that this will be the first time she votes in an election.
Patrick, 42, hosted the town hall for the vice presidential candidate in Greensboro, North Carolina. After hearing from a first-time voter, Patrick revealed to the room that she’s never voted before:
PATRICK: I’ve never voted before, but this time around I have to vote.
VANCE: Oh, that’s awesome. Good for you.
PATRICK: Yeah, it’s that important.
VANCE: I just want to be clear, I wanna get on record, you’re voting for us, right? You’re voting for the good guys?
PATRICK: One-thousand percent.
VANCE: There we go!
When Patrick claimed she would “vote twice” if she could, Vance joked about the now-debunked claims of voter fraud from the 2020 election:
PATRICK: If I could vote twice, I would.
VANCE: We don’t do that. We’re Republicans. We only vote — we vote legally. Only one time.
PATRICK: The way you vote twice is to bring a friend.
VANCE: That’s right. That’s a good point. Vote twice the legal way. Bring yourself and a friend of the polls. That’s very good.
While Vance urged voters to vote legally, Elon Musk’s mother recently took to social media to tell Republicans to do the opposite. In an Oct. 5 tweet, she suggested Republican voters go to multiple different polls with fake names to “work the system.”
