College Football Playoff bracket outlook for Tennessee football: Where the Vols rank

The fourth College Football Playoff top 25 rankings and a 12-team bracket projection were released on Tuesday after Week 13.

Tennessee (9-2, 5-2 SEC) will play at Vanderbilt (6-5, 3-4 SEC) on Saturday in Week 14. Kickoff between the Vols and Commodores is slated for noon EST.

ABC will televise the in-state matchup. Dave Pasch (play-by-play), Dusty Dvoracek (analyst) and Taylor McGregor (sideline reporter) will be on the call.

Tennessee’s projected CFP opponent

Tennessee is ranked No. 8 in the College Football Playoff top 25 rankings. The Vols are projected to play at Georgia in the first-round of the 12-team bracket.

How many teams in College Football Playoff 2024?

For the first time, there will be 12 teams participating in the College Football Playoff. There are five automatic bids for each of the Power Four conference champions and one to the highest-ranked Group of Five champion. The remaining seven slots are given to seven at-large teams.
