The NHL has announced that the Saturday, Oct. 12 game between the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning has been postponed.
The game was scheduled to take place in Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay but due to the impact of Hurricane Milton, the game will no longer be taking place on the scheduled date.
A makeup date will be announced as soon as it can be confirmed per the NHL.
The Hurricanes and Lightning will still be kicking off their seasons on Friday, Oct. 11 at Lenovo Center.
The Canes’ next game will now be Oct. 15 against the New Jersey Devils at Lenovo Center as well.
The Lightning were scheduled to have a three-game homestand following their season opener against Carolina (Oct. 12), Vancouver (Oct. 15) and Vegas (Oct. 17) so we will have to wait and see what happens with those as well.
