Martin, who spent last season splitting time between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Hurricanes, started the year with the Chicago Wolves. In three appearances so far, he has collected a 1-1-1 record, a 2.32 GAA and a .920 SV%.

Drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round of the 2013 NHL Draft, Martin has made 57 career NHL appearances across five seasons. Across that time, he has put up a 21-26-7 record, a 3.52 GAA and a .887 SV%.

With Martin being recalled by the Hurricanes, he could have a strong opportunity to draw into the lineup. Martin has always posted solid numbers in the AHL and is a solid depth goaltender for any organization to have.
