The Knicks have assigned first-round draft pick Pacome Dadiet to the Westchester Knicks of the G League, the team announced Saturday afternoon.
Westchester’s next game is Sunday at 3 p.m. and with the pro team hosting the New Orleans Pelicans at 6 p.m., this move is likely a result of wanting Dadiet to get some playtime with the G League to keep him fresh.
Dadiet, 19, was selected 25th overall in the 2024 draft out of France and has had some moments in his first season in the NBA. He’s appeared in 10 of the team’s first 19 games in limited minutes off the bench with his last appearance coming in the Knicks’ rout of the Denver Nuggets back on Nov. 25. He’s been on the floor more than 10 minutes just three times, the last time coming on Nov. 18 against the Washington Wizards where he played 18 minutes and scored nine points, both career highs.
After Sunday, the Knicks’ next game will be at home against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. If this move to the G League is temporary, Dadiet could be back with the team by then.
