‘We can’t rebuild from this’: NASCAR driver asks for help finding stolen super truck

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A North Carolina NASCAR driver is searching for his super truck, which he said was stolen from a hotel in Florence following the South Carolina 400 Super Truck race on Friday Night.

Allen Huffman has been around racing all his life. He gave it up in the early 2000s to pursue a degree and career in ministry.

That changed in 2011 when he helped start NCN Ministries in North Carolina, bringing ministry and racing together.

That’s when he started in his super truck.

“We’ve worked since then to build this team from the ground up,” Huffman said.

It’s the truck he’s won 3 championships in and the one he won his first race in.

The group brought the truck down to Florence Motor Speedway to take part in the South Carolina 400.

He said they had a good time while they didn’t win the race.

After the race, they went to Home2Suites in Florence for the night.

When Huffman woke up Saturday morning, he realized the truck, trailer, and everything inside was gone.

Huffman told WMBF News he asked his crew chief, who also has a set of keys if he moved it, but he hadn’t.

After speaking with the hotel, he realized it had been stolen.

“Everything operation-wise for the team is sitting on that trailer,” he said.

Not only the super truck but also the pit box and all of their tools. Some of which they borrowed from their friends back in Hickory.

Now, he’s seeking help from folks across the southeast as he said the hotel is so close to I-20 and I-95 that the truck and trailer could be anywhere.

“You’ve put your heart and soul into something for 15 years to build it literally from the ground up. We can’t rebuild from this,” Huffman said. The race truck and the pit box. That’s the two main things [that I] desperately want back the truck cannot be replaced. It’s a one-off truck. It’s a it was a special build.”

Huffman was offering a $1,000 reward but another race team stepped in and doubled that, making it a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the safe recovery or whereabouts of the stolen items.
