DURHAM, N.C. — Fifth-seeded Michigan State fell to No. 1 overall seed Duke, 2-0, in the NCAA Third Round Sunday night in Durham.
MSU ends its season at 14-3-5 after advancing to the NCAA third round for the second straight season.
“Duke is just an incredible side,” MSU coach Jeff Hosler said. “They did a really good job rom the start making us uncomfortable, particularly in their counter-press. … I think they’re the No. 1 seed for a reason, with a really complete team.
“… I couldn’t be more proud of the continued growth we show in our program. I have a lot of debt to these players that just played their last game for us.”
