The Nashville Predators are finally giving Fedor Svechkov an opportunity in the NHL as the former first round pick from 2021 was recalled from AHL Milwaukee Admirals where he has been playing very well.

The Predators have to do something to spark the team and a lot has already been tried. In the short term, calling up a top prospect like Svechkov who has earned the promotion is a good move while Barry Trotz is likely working on some trades.
Svechkov came to North America last season and had a strong rookie season in the AHL. He produced 16 goals and 39 points in 57 games and already has five goals and eight points in seven games in 2024-25 for Milwaukee.
By recalling Svechkov, the Predators sent down Adam Wilsby, who didn’t get into an NHL game during his time with the team.
With this callup, I fully expect Svechkov to play. The former 19th overall pick would do better with more than fourth line minutes in Nashville, but that might not come right away as even Zachary L’Heureux, who was the earlier forward prospect called up, has been slotting in on the fourth line thus far.
Svechkov has done well with an increased role in the AHL from what he got in the KHL before coming over. He should be a nice piece for the Predators moving forward and will hopefully inject some life and scoring into the team.
