Two of Colorado’s best high school football receivers in 2024 came from right here in Fort Collins.

Fort Collins’ Levi Hermsen and Fossil Ridge’s Marcus Mozer finished among the state leaders in numerous receiving and scoring categories while setting school records in the process.

Hermsen is a senior at Heritage Christian but played for the Lambkins since the Eagles do not have a football program. The shifty wideout had a breakout senior campaign, electric in the open field catching the ball and returning it on special teams.

Meanwhile, Mozer (Colorado’s No. 2 Class of 2025 recruit per 247 Sports and San Diego State commit) cemented his place in the Fossil Ridge record books and among Colorado’s top offensive weapons.

The 6-foot-4 senior did it all despite missing one game with a minor hip injury and sharing touches on a deep, talented SaberCats offense that averaged 32.1 points per game with over 3,000 passing yards.

Here’s a look at Hermsen and Mozer’s seasons, including stats, statistical rankings and highlights:

Mozer didn’t have Hermsen’s raw numbers this season, but there was no denying his impact for an explosive offense.

He was the receiving ringleader for a SaberCats passing game that had four wideouts with 500-plus yards and five with at least three touchdowns from prolific quarterback Nick Kubat.

Along with a strong junior season and a surging sophomore campaign, Mozer finished his career with these Fossil Ridge football program records:

  • 2,137 career receiving yards

  • 18 single-season total TDs (2024, 8th in 5A)

  • 2,749 career all-purpose yards (2nd in Fossil history)

  • 933 receiving yards (3rd in 5A)

  • 13 receiving TDs (T-5th in Colorado, T-2nd in 5A)

  • 66 catches (4th in 5A)

  • 6 multi-TD games (3 games with 3)
