Arkansas football plays host to No. 3 Texas today, hoping to secure bowl eligibility while pulling off an upset against one of the school’s oldest rivals.
The Razorbacks (5-4, 3-3 SEC) and Longhorns (8-1, 4-1) will square off for the 80th time Saturday in the first SEC game between the two programs. Texas owns an all-time record of 56-23 against Arkansas, but the Hogs have won the last two editions of the old Southwest Conference rivalry.
Arkansas is coming off a bye, but the Razorbacks fell to Ole Miss 63-31 in their most recent game. Rebels’ quarterback Jaxson Dart torched the Arkansas secondary in the blowout, and the Hogs will need to play much better on the back end against Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns.
Texas rolled over Florida 49-17 last week as it continues to march toward a potential berth in the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns control their destiny and will clinch a spot in the SEC Championship with three more wins.
