Does Rutgers play today? College football schedule for Scarlet Knights after Week 10 bye

by admin

This season hasn’t gone the way Rutgers football and its fans had hoped, but this week the Scarlet Knights had an opportunity to regroup and potentially look for solutions for the final stretch of their season.

Greg Schiano’s team got off to a 4-0 start, but have lost consecutive games against Nebraska, Wisconsin, UCLA and USC.

Injuries haven’t helped, especially on defense, where Rutgers has struggled to live up to expectations as key starters are either banged up, or in the case of linebacker Mohamed Toure, out for the season.

So at 4-4, this was a needed bye week.

Does Rutgers play today?

Rutgers is off for its second bye week of the season after losing against Southern California on Oct. 25 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Scarlet Knights have four games remaining, starting with a home meeting against Minnesota, followed by a game at Maryland, home against Illinois and then at Michigan State to close out the regular season.

Rutgers needs to win at least two of those games to reach the six-win mark and earn bowl eligibility for a second-consecutive season.
