Nov. 1—ROCHESTER — The Rochester Community and Technical College women’s basketball team got its season off to a roaring start Friday, blasting the Waldorf University junior varsity 102-52.
The Yellowjackets, who have played in the NJCAA Division III national championship game the last two years, winning it in 2023, had all five of their starters hit double figures against Waldorf.
Guard Naomi Crushshon led the way with 29 points. The freshman from Brooklyn Park, Minn., dazzled by going 13 for 19 from the field. Chatfield graduate Kara Goetzinger had 22 points and eight rebounds and guard Macaya Copeland had 18 points.
Aniyah Reuben (14 points) and Tori Henderson (10 points) rounded things out for RCTC.
RCTC forced 33 Waldorf turnovers while committing just nine itself.
