Actor-Turned NASCAR Racer Replacing Hailie Deegan’s Successor Leaves Fans Suspecting AM Racing Shakeup

Frankie Muniz is making strides in fulfilling his NASCAR dream. After competing on a partial schedule at the Xfinity and Trucks series level in 2024, the Agent Cody Banks star has bagged himself a full-time opportunity. The 38-year-old will make his full debut in the Truck Series with Reaume Brothers Racing in 2025, driving the No. 33 Ford truck.

Muniz raced under the RBR racing banner this year, driving their #22 entry for two races at Nashville and Kansas. He is also scheduled to race two more races with the team in 2024 before he transitions into a full-time driver for the next year. Meanwhile, this news also hints at a major shakeup within the team, one that could see Lawless Alan looking for new opportunities.

More Core Diamond and Nugget Trap will serve as Muniz’s primary sponsor and back his full-time ride for the next season. More Core will be featured on the #22 Ford F-150 Truck for this weekend’s race at Miami Homestead Speedway. Although this is big news for Frank Muniz in taking the next big step towards his NASCAR dream, fans were more intrigued to know about Lawless Alan’s future moves.

Is Lawless Alan moving up the ranks in the Xfinity Series with AM Racing?

The reason why Alan is being linked with this move is because he was the one who replaced Hailie Deegan at AM Racing, driving the #15 Ford in the Xfinity series. Deegan’s rookie season at Xfinity level didn’t turn out as she hoped and was axed by her team only after 17 races. So they need a full-time driver themselves after their program with Deegan ended on a sour note. Trying to connect the dots and linking Alan to AM Racing, this fan wrote, “Does that mean that lawless Alan will be in a second AM xfinity series car next year??”

It is hard to find positives from Alan’s efforts driving the #33 entry in 2024. In the 20 starts he’s made this season, he has 5 DNFs and an average finish of 24.1. His best run was at Talladega, where he finished P5. Apart from that, he’s struggled to find any success. Critical of his on-track performance and his move to AM Racing, a Reddit user added, “They finally got Lawless to stop wrecking their sh-t every week, and they’re moving up in the world to… Frankie Muniz.”

Muniz hasn’t just shot himself into the big league on the back of his popularity or sponsorship money. In 2023, he competed in the ARCA on a full-time basis with Rette Jones Racing and registered nine top-10 finishes. Despite the lack of experience, he’s managed to keep the race cars off the wall, a quality that seems to be lacking with Alan behind the wheel. Taking a dig at the current RBR racing driver, this fan stated, “Can’t do any worse than Wreckless Alan.”

Now, the Reaume Brothers Racing aren’t known for their racing prowess or their race-winning programs. In their 154 starts, the team hasn’t been able to win a single race, and this trend could continue with Frankie Muniz next year. “Poor guy. Hopefully this goes well but RBR aren’t exactly an A Tier, B Tier or even C Tier organization in the trucks.”

AM Racing’s initial plans were to complete the whole of the 2024 season with Haile Deegan as their full-time driver. But a streak of subpar performances and Deegan’s inability to find her rhythm saw the two parties cut ties mid-season. The team then had to rope in multiple drivers like Joey Logano and Josh Berry to see out the rest of the year. But, according to this fan, AM Racing will be back to competing with a solo driver. “This almost confirms lawless Alan is going up to AM next year.”
