Rocco DelGiudice eclipses 1,000 passing yards in final season at Pocono Mountain East

SWIFTWATER — Rocco DelGiudice’s name is etched in Pocono Mountain East football history as the quarterback becomes the school’s first 1,000-yard passer since 2018.

DelGiudice, who reached the milestone in a Week 8 matchup against Pleasant Valley, has put together multiple performances of 200 passing yards or more his senior season, including a 250-yard game against Honesdale. He is the first East player to reach the milestone since Dylan Rinker set the school record with 1,605.

East’s offense has dramatically changed under new head coach Dustin Thomas, who changed the scheme from a triple option to a spread offense. The change has given DelGiudice, an All-State baseball player who’s committed to Mansfield, the opportunity to show off his arm on the gridiron. With two more regular season games and a playoff game to go, it will be interesting to see how close DelGiudice can get to Rinker’s record.
