Arkansas football running back suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football has suspended running back Rashod Dubinion indefinitely for a violation of team rules, head coach Sam Pittman announced Monday.

Dubinion was expected to carry a meaningful load in the Razorbacks‘ backfield coming into the season, but he’s only logged three carries and two catches this fall, with all of his offensive output coming against UAPB in the season opener. He did not play in the 24-14 win over Auburn Saturday.

Prior to 2024, Dubinion had played in 23 games during his Arkansas career, including 13 as a true freshman in 2022.

In 2023, Dubinion played in 10 games with a pair of starts, rushing for 260 yards on 82 carries with one touchdown. He also had 14 receptions for 85 yards and a score.

Utah transfer Ja’Quinden Jackson has accounted for most of the reps at the running back position, and he leads the entire SEC with 472 rushing yards, but Dubinion has also been passed on the depth chart by Florida State transfer Rodney Hill and true freshman Braylen Russell.

Dubinion dealt with an injury throughout fall camp and was questionable entering the UAPB game.

He was No. 37 player in Georgia and No. 21 athlete in the nation as a recruit, according to 247Sports.
