UNCASVILLE, Conn. — The awards have started rolling in for Caitlin Clark.
The star Fever rookie was unanimously named the WNBA Rookie of the Year by a 15-person panel by the Associated Press, the outlet announced on Sunday ahead of first-round playoff games. Clark is the second Fever player in franchise history to win AP Rookie of the Year, joining 2023 No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston. The WNBA will announce its official rookie of the year at a later date.
Clark’s selection headlines the AP all-rookie team, which includes the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, the Los Angeles Sparks’ Rickea Jackson, and the New York Liberty’s Leonie Fiebich. Clark was also named to the AP All-WNBA First Team, joining A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, and Alyssa Thomas.
Clark broke a multitude of records this season, including becoming the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double. She led the entire league in assists with 8.4 per game, breaking the single-season record with 337 in the 40-game regular season.
She broke the rookie season record for points, as well, and barely edged out teammate Kelsey Mitchell to break the single-season franchise points record with 769 (Mitchell had 767 this season).

This season, the trailblazing rookie led the Fever to their first playoff berth since 2016 — when Indiana legend Tamika Catchings retired. The Fever will start the playoffs against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday at 3 p.m.
