Patrick Kane Still Felt Like A Blackhawk Long After Being Traded

by admin

Patrick Kane spent 16 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks while winning three Stanley Cups and that just doesn’t go away.

Despite getting traded from Chicago in 2023, there was still a part of him that felt like a Blackhawk at heart.

Going into the 2024-25 season though, something finally feels for Kane as he’s ready to close that chapter of that part of his career and buy into the Red wings’ culture.

“The last couple years, you still feel in some respects like you’re a Blackhawk, right?” Kane said. “Even when you go to New York or last year when I was in Detroit. There’s still that sense that you’re somewhat of a Blackhawk, and for me now, the page is officially turned, so it’s nice to be here in Detroit and build on what I was able to do last year and what the team was able to do and be a Red Wing, and I definitely feel like one now.”

Kane has already spent a full season in Detroit and he signed a one-year deal during the summer to remain with the Red Wings.

This past season, the 35-year-old recorded 20 goals, 27 assists and 47 points in 50 games while averaging 18:23 minutes.

Both Kane and the Blackhawks organization have turned the page.

The Blackhawks enter a whole new era with Connor Bedard leading the charge and Kane continues to thrive even while he still ages.

Kane makes his return to Chicago on Nov. 6 when the Blackhawks take on the Red Wings.
